Strawberry Cupcake
The latest cupcakey item to go on my 'must have' list is this gorgeous Strawberry Cupcake vintage/shabby chic cushion designed by Vintage Style Home. I love everything about it, especially how the cupcake seems to be framed by the pretty full blown roses. The faded vintage pastel shades remind me of some of Martin Wiscombe's retro designs, which I also love, so it's no real surprise that I'm smitten! Available from Etsy for £6.99 + p&p.
And if, like me, you think that a cupcake is enjoyed best with a cup of tea then this Rose Teacup cushion is the perfect accompaniment! Also available from Etsy for £6.99 + p&p.

Whimsical Collection's unique and upscale custom chandeliers could perhaps be more accurately described as 'room jewellery'! Take this four-arm, hand-glazed cupake chandelier for example (yes please!) Each arm of this orginal handpainted design features a sweet sugar-sprinkled cupcake... and every one is different. There's yummy chocolate, strawberry pink, creamy vanilla, & buttery yellow, with twinkly crystal drops and beading adding even more sparkle! If the colours don't fit in with your colour scheme don't panic... the chandelier can be made in different colours for no extra charge!
Available from Etsy for $275 USD (£179 GBP) + p&p. This would be a lovely finishing touch for a little girl's pastel-pretty bedroom. Or a shabby-chic kitchen. Or a crafty workroom. Oh, so many places where this would look amazing!

Ooooh!
Despite looking yummy this cupcake isn't really a cupcake at all! Believe it or not, this amazing confection has been handmade by Angela Andrews of Woolly Duck from felted Merino wool and natural fabric. No wonder we've been fooled though, the level of detail is amazing - even the cake wrapper has been enhanced with fabric paint to give the appearance of sponge showing through!
The Cupcake can be used simply for decoration - or it could be used as a special pincushion for someone who likes to have their cake but doesn’t always want to eat it! Available from Woolly Duck's Folksy shop for £15.00 + p&p.

Winter Tea Party
If you think that Afternoon Tea is all about dainty cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off and light-as-air sponge cake you've got a surprise coming! What about a Winter Tea Party? If you didn't know that such a thing existed, and have no idea how to host one, the lovely people at Tea & Cakes tell us how...
Tea - Some strong-brewed traditional blend, something hearty and malty like Assam
Savouries - Buttered toast and crumpets, sandwiches made with hard boiled eggs and chicken, the aim here is to make the Famous Five jealous.
Cake - Hot sponge pudding, parkin, jam roly-poly, something made with suet and served with custard that will have been baking in the oven to perfection whilst you've been wolfing down your savouries.
Paraphernalia - A good sturdy teapot and your favourite mugs (this one is not about being dainty). Best served at a wooden farmhouse table, with oak beams above you and a spaniel underneath the table to feed scraps to.'
Doesn't that just sound lovely? And if tea and cake is now high on your winter agenda you could go the whole hog and treat yourself to the very appropriate Tea and Cake tea cosy made to order by The Apple Cottage Company. Available from Not on the High Street priced at £29.00 + p&p.
'A Winter Tea Party is one to have in front of a crackling fire, whilst cold winds whistle outside your windows. When the air's full of mists and hail and blowing a gale, take shelter indoors and conjure up some comforting scents for family and friends in your kitchen.
